When it comes to fashion design, this branch of art and industry is rapidly increasing over the last few years. Since Singapore takes pride as one of the richest countries in the world in the terms of GDP, it is only reasonable that this relative leisure of the living standard has caused an increase in the interest for fashion and fashion design. When it comes to fashion design schools there is a number of universities and colleges that have some sort of a fashion design course in  Singapore. Here we will mention some of the more prominent ones.

First Media Design School

This school is a part of the First Media Group, which alongside its Singapore branch has branches across Asia, notably in Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Bangkok and Shanghai. The Group primarily deals in the IMC consulting business. Some time ago, it has created its Singapore branch of the First Media Design Schools. The school offers a curriculum that encompasses various subjects, some of which aren`t directly related to design. When it comes to the fashion design courses at this school, it takes pride for developing self-motivation and unique-thinking skills with their students, and enabling them to work in the bustling business on the modern fashion design industry.

Raffles Merchandising School

This school, as many other institutions in Singapore, got its name after Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles, who was the first British colonial governor of the city, and who is considered to be the father of the city, as we know it today. It is a private educational institution, oriented towards providing education in the field of design and management. It was established in November 2006, however it has already got to become an influential institution in the world of fashion industry here in Singapore. The school awards the Bachelor of Design degree to the students finishing their design courses. It should also be noted that these courses have a special emphasis on fashion marketing.

As you can see, there are quite a few educational institutions that have some sort of a fashion design course in Singapore. This will undoubtedly influence the development of the fashion industry in this city.
