In summer 2009 the Italian Language School Leonardo da Vinci in Milan offers Italian plus Art, Fashion and Design Summer Courses and new Design Summer Courses in Milan.

So, thanks to the collaboration with NABA (New Academy of Fine Arts) and Art Courses in Italy, the school gives its students a new opportunity to choose among a great variety of high quality Design Summer Courses in Milan.

This is a project started with the aim of addressing foreign students to get in touch with Italian design while studying Italian language at the same time. In this way students will have the possibility to discover the dynamic context of Italian fashion and design industries and the artistic and social expression of Fashion, Design and Graphic Design, but also to learn Italian language under the guidance of the Leonardo da Vinci Italian language school’s knowledge.

For this summer, NABA offers a large number of prestigious Summer Courses such as: Fashion Design, Styling and Accessories, Fashion Marketing and Merchandising, Fashion Photography and Journalism, Fashion Textiles and Fibres, Interior and Product Design, Landscape Architecture, Lighting Design Studio, Graphic Design, Graphic Art Design for Fashion, Photography and the Moving Image, Theatre Design.

All Summer Courses are divided into three levels: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced, open to students with a high school diploma and from first and second year of university.

Learn Languages Abroad gives information to international students who wish to attend a language or special course abroad. On Learn Languages Abroad web pages it is possible to find generic and professional courses of English, French, Italian, Spanish, Russian, German language and special courses addressed to students who want to develop their skills in a specific field.

The summer fashion study abroad is conducted on an individual basis, in which each student is privately instructed. Thanks to our concise and structured method of teaching, we can offer a significant and complete experience in a short period of time. Both students who are just beginning in the fashion field and those who already have studied or possess work experience will benefit from this course.

Basic: suitable to people who are starting from zero

Fashion summer course has two kinds of attendance:

Course of 100 hours + 4 hours seminar
Duration: 4 weeks
Attendance: morning and afternoon

Course of   50 hours + 4 hours seminar
Duration A: 4 weeks
Attendance: you can choose morning or afternoon

Duration B: 2 weeks (you can decide the weeks in July that you prefer follow the course)
Attendance: Morning and Afternoon
Only the students that have already experience in the fashion field can choose 50 hours Pattern Making and Fashion Design program both, otherwise it’s possible choose only one subject (Pattern Making or Fashion Design) or the 100 hours course.

One lesson last 3 hours. Lessons are from Monday to Thursday having two different school time:
Morning 9:00 - 12:00
Afternoon 14:00 – 17:00

Course of 100 hours has two lessons per day (morning and afternoon)
Course of   50 hours has one lesson per day choosing morning or afternoon or it possible arrange the lessons in accordance with student necessity. As an example one lesson per day for 4 weeks (only morning or afternoon) or two lessons per day for two weeks (morning and afternoon) or choosing others combinations

And if you have already completed a marketing course you are ready to enrol in Fashion Merchandising Studio (Intermediate Level) course, where you will be given the necessary tools to understand the dynamic context of the fashion business in Italy and internationally. Introduction level courses (from June 30th to July 11th) are aimed at whoever wants to start exploring the world of Fashion, whereas Studio level courses (from July 15th to July 25th) are meant for Fashion college students at 1st,2nd, 3rd year and for professionals who would like to have a refreshing experience in a young international environment.
